ASUU STRIKE UPDATE
“PRESIDENT JONATHAN IS NIGERIA’S MANDELA” –
DOTIN OKUPE TELLS AIT
Doyin Okupe, a political appointee in
President Jonathan’s administration has come open to praise him (Jonathan)
during an interview he granted on African Independent Television few days ago.
On Friday December 6, 2013, hear what Doyin
said about President Jonathan’s Commitment to the ongoing ASUU STRIKE
Nelson Mandela was a great leader; he lived
his life for the people of South Africa. I checked through the history of
Nigeria, among our past and present leaders, the only one we can call our
Mandela here in Nigeria is President Jonathan. There is no other President in
Nigeria that has sacrificed 13 hours to discuss with ASUU.”
Did I hear him compare President Jonathan
to Mandela?
How
can he make such comparison –when Nigerian students have been home–bound for
the past 6 months.
So
because the Oga at the top spent 13 hours with ASUU Officials, that
automatically qualifies him as the Mandela of Nigeria…..Doyin Okupe should wake
up from his slumber abegi o
Jonathan
also wants to use ASUU Strike to form History, “for the first time in his life
he spent 13 hours deliberating on a congress issue, so he sacrificed enough time
to hear what they had to say”- great achievement indeed.
Mr.
President, It’s true you heard them but it didn’t solve a think many past
leaders spent less than 2 hours and they brought a positive result that made
lecturers resume lectures, so your history should be the - first president to attend a meeting
‘to negotiate’ with the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities for 13 Hours and still have nothing
to show for it...
Hurray!
Hurray!! @DenixHb (December 10, 2013)
has made History for Mr. President.
If
you write WAEC and fail, you wouldn’t be proud of it, but still you wrote the
exam noni.
Mr.
President your duty is to listen to their complaint because of wetin?… because
you be Presido ofcos, so stop the whole achievement or history of a
thing.
Yes
o u do meeting but where is the result. We students are still in our father’s
house, it’s just like you wrote WAEC and failed, so no KUDOS to you.
And
my dear Mr. Doyin Okupe, dont get south Africans angry o and see what Nigerians Got to say to you.
See
some of their reactions below…“GEJ Is Nigeria’s Mandela – Doyin Okupe”
Like I said his cocaine is 1st grade from colombia @DOlusegun
— @Lady_Deelicious:
Pres Jonathan should sack Doyin Okupe for making such a sick statement & send him to Yaba left too.
— Tunji (@heymode) December 7, 2013
GEJ knows how to pick them. Okupe , Gulak and Reno. Three peas in a pod.
— Olusegun Dada (@DOlusegun) December 7, 2013
But seriously why will Okupe say becos Jonathan spent 13 hours with ASUU he is suddenly equal to Mandela? This is seriously unacceptable.
— I am The Godfather (@Ayourb) December 7, 2013
If President Jonathan is Nigeria’s Mandela according to Okupe, is Bishop Oristejafor also our Desmond Tutu? #Wonderingcitizen
— victor ehikhamenor (@victorsozaboy) December 7, 2013
People like Okupe are the reason Nigeria looks at least 3 millenniums away from that positive change we need. @abati1990
— Adedeji Oluwaferanmi (@Feranz_CFC) December 7, 2013
Okupe, Advise your president daily to be the Mandela of his time and not praise his ill achievements on the papers. -- Anonymity

CALLING FOR THE HOME ABOVE
It’s
so wonderful to see people pray to God to sleep well and wake up tomorrow even
when yesterday and today was stressful.
Even
when they are still unemployed
Even
when they lost their job
Even
when their boss is an asshole
Even
when they are underemployed
They
believe tomorrow would be a better day
They
have faith that the future would be bright
They
have a strong will and hope that everything would be okay at the long run.
I’m
not being starved with hunger, I have a shelter over me, I have clothes to
cover my nakedness and I’m blessed with shoes to protect my feet therefore I should
have more courage to have faith in a better tomorrow.
But
I of all people, because my mind is not at rest ‘and what I seek most in life
is to live in peace and happiness in a comfortable environment’ I wish to be
with the heavenly father.
This
eclipse I’m going through now always comes for a brighter sun to shine…..but
this time I really hope this eclipse would be the last.
I
want to be at peace, be happy with myself; don’t need to do any deep thinking,
no headache, not minding if I’m being trusted or not, I don’t want to live to
make any one proud but myself; the heavenly home
is what I seek for right now.

Nigerian Senate seeks 7 year jail term for social media critics?
Is this story for real? According to a
report by Daily Trust Dec. 4, 2013, the Nigerian Senate has reached
an advanced stage to pass a bill that seeks seven years jail term for social
media critics found guilty of inciting the public against the government.
The proposed legislation which has
scaled second reading in the upper legislative chamber is also proposing a
stiffer punishment for internet fraudsters and scammers in Nigeria as those
convicted will face a seven years imprisonment.
The joint Senate Committees on Judiciary, Human Rights and legal matters, Drugs, Narcotics and Financial Crimes led by Senator Umaru Dahiru (PDP, Sokoto), yesterday organized a one day public hearing on the bill for an act to provide for the prohibition and punishment for electronic fraud and crime in all electronic transactions in Nigeria.
“Section 13
subsection 3 of the bill proposes that: “Anyone who intentionally propagates false information that could
threaten the security of the country or that is capable of inciting the general
public against the government through electronic message shall be guilty of an
offense and upon conviction shall be sentenced to seven years imprisonment or
N5 million (fine).”
Can they be serious??
Electronic fraudsters pose a great danger to the country.
True talk, we all know that, no argument
on it.
But this bill is will pose a greater danger to the country, in Nigeria we have
rights that we get deprived from; we maintain our stand and are patient. For
example, the ongoing ASUU strike; these lecturers have being patient enough,
there is no doubt, and they know their rights and are fighting for it.
Freedom of Speech is what I speak for; we
have being deprived of many things but this is going be a NO NO.
The chilling effect of this bill if passed into law will be unprecedented.
Nobody will be spared, if one speaks out against a perceived government
indiscretion, they may be deemed to have incited the Nigerian public.
One man once threatened another in a
chat group exchange, that his “handcuff is waiting for him anytime he shows up
in Nigeria.” This time around, the handcuff is waiting for any keyboard
happy Nigerian who gets frustrated by the massive corruption going on and utters
a word in frustration on any social media.
This is Pure Injustice
A PIECE OF MY MIND TO MR. PRESIDENT
With all Due Respect I write with an Open mind
Federal
Government FG said they deposited the sum of Two Hundred and Twenty Billion
Naira 22bn into an account in the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN for ASUU.
ASUU
then requests for a proof, FG replies them by saying…… ASUU’ Leadership shows a
seed of discord and evidence of Bad Faith.
Hahahahahahaha
Mr. President, u fit kill person o
Why
the preaching nah? If you want to preach on Faith go for evangelism we have
many Nigerians that are yet to know God?
When
we gave you our subsidy money, wetin you take am do? Ehn?
You
asked us to have faith in your tenure and we did, where the hell is the result
of the January 1st Suffering?
During this tenure of yours, you still made an unreasonable statement by
telling us the cause of the economic melt down is our fault for not letting you
remove the entire subsidy.
Oh My!!
What
should I call a person that can’t take responsibility of his actions?
Now,
you seek ASUU’ faith, you would see the faith when you start doing your part to
make this Country NIGERIA
a better place.
Imagine
you couldn’t even Sack the Minister of Aviation, What then can you do?? Mr.
President.
Please
pay the agreed Money
Stop
the Unreasonable threats
