PRAYER...As the year comes to an end

As the year comes to an end, for the rise of a new beginning. I share this Prayer with you. YOU could read out loud.
O God of all beginnings and endings, we praise and thank you for the gift of this year.
It has been a time filled with grace and blessings, with challenges and opportunities, joys and sorrows.
The days have passed quickly, the weeks, the months, the seasons, the promotions, the holidays, the breaks and so on. All have come forth because you made it to.
While we trust that your purposes have always being at work each day, sometimes it has seemed difficult to understand and appreciate just what you have been up to in our life.
Let our efforts of this  year bear fruits. Bring all our plans to a joyful conclusion and bless us according to your will.
Watch over us in the remaining days of this year and guide us through out the coming year as you've always done.
Renew our Energy O LORD
Renew our Mind FATHER
Develop us. In Jesus name.
As we age, may we continue to grow in wisdom, knowledge and grace; all the days of our lives. AMEN.
I remain your humble HB.

From Friend to Fiancée. Get him to...

Get him to want you as much a you want him without letting him know you want him to want you.
#that was long.
From Friend to Fiancée is a book written by Steve HARRIS. I'd give my view about the book and a short citation about the Author.
This book talks about twenty one secrets #Relationship wise.
For me, I gained more than 21 secrets. When i first purchased this book, I expected to see list of things a Lady can do to make a guy want her more but i ended up seeing list of things a lady should do to make her know herself more and him want her. I also learnt that if he doesn't, it's his loss not because she's one in a million but because good or bad SHE gains.
First Secret:- Men are attracted to confident women, if you ain't got it, go get it.
And there's this saying that 'too much of everything is not good'. So if you become too independent, he may also feel you don't need him. (Ladies- guys are like that cos its what makes us human, so cast that anger of yours out the window).
To know more about this secret and other twenty, go purchase your COPY.
What made me buy this book, its not just by its catching title but by the lightness of the book.
*I love learning new things but when what is being said or written is getting to long, I get discouraged, so i don't like wasting money to buy books i'm not certain I would finish.* If you're this type of person, then you'd find this book easy to read without getting bored and gain a great deal at the long run.
Some of the things I can heartily quote from this book:
- Remember, he placed you in the friend zone for a reason and the sooner you shatter the glass ceiling of the forced incarceration he calls Friendship, the faster you can get on with your happily ever after.
- You're a vault, not an ATM, stop giving up the goods to anyone who has a card.
- Cinderella lost her slippers not her virginity, you don't need to have sex to find your prince.
-You would be majoring on the minor if you place charisma over content and swag over substance.
Who is Steve HARRIS?

A living Youth's Death

The agony of a youth...

When i say Jesus pls come back, its not like i want the world to come to an end but the fact that i want this life to come to an end.

Its not that life is not rossy or that friends are not worth having but the fact that there is a part that is sick and tired of the life i am in.

In this world that we are in, if everybody wants everything to go their own way then i guess we are all in our dream-land.  Earth ain't no fantasy, but a reality.

I find myself in this reality, in pain, in sorrow and a fake smile. Happiness that doesn't last, sadness that breaks one's heart, pain that would tear one in shreds.

This Life that i live, this life is saddening. A life were your freedom to speech is not free. A life were you would wish for an end. A life were to survive you have to live in a lie. A life without a truth. A life were one has to accept everything that happens as pre-destined.

And this is also a life some people would kill to have.  A life that i'm willing to give.

A.O.B- Pastor who had a Vision: Governor

I’ll be next governor of Lagos –Pastor

A Lagos-based pastor, Mr. Kayode Jacobs, says he has been chosen by God to become the next governor of Lagos State.

Jacobs said this during an interview at PUNCH PLACE, the corporate headquarters of PUNCH Nigeria Limited, Magboro, Ogun State, on Monday.

He admitted that although he had little money, he could defeat the Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro; and Jimi Agbaje to clinch the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Jacobs, who runs Family and Relationships Ministry in Lagos, said he had been in politics for over 20 years having worked with a former Minister of Information, Mr. Dapo Sarunmi.

The pastor, who is an indigene of Badagry, said he had the backing of a large number of pastors in the state as well as massive grass roots following in 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas.

He said, “This is my David moment. You see, nobody expected David to become king of Israel because he was the last son but when God would favour him, he picked him from obscurity. I am sure that God’s favour will see me through.”

When asked why he was gunning for governorship instead of lower political positions, the journalist turned pastor, said the governorship position was the only office he could make a huge impact.

He said, “I don’t want to be a senator or a House of Representatives member because I don’t want to be debating and making laws. I need a position whereby I can make a direct impact on the lives of the people. Also, this was the position I was directed to contest for.”

Jacobs said Governor Babatunde Fashola’s policies were not people-friendly. He said Fashola’s government only favoured the rich while the poor were neglected.

He noted that Fashola’s achievements in terms of public infrastructure would not stand the test of time.

BENEFITS OF SWEET POTATOES

sweet potatoes sweet potatoes sweet potatoes sweet potatoes

Not only are sweet potatoes readily available, inexpensive, and delicious, they have many other benefits for your health. Here are some…

-They are high in vitamin B6, which helps reduce the chemical homocysteine in our bodies. Homocysteine has been linked with degenerative diseases, including heart attacks.
- They are a good source of vitamin C. While most people know that vitamin C is important to help ward off cold and flu viruses, few people are aware that this crucial vitamin plays an important role in bone and tooth formation, digestion, and blood cell formation. It helps accelerate wound healing, produces collagen which helps maintain skin’s youthful elasticity, and is essential to helping us cope with stress. It even appears to help protect our body against toxins that may be linked to cancer.
- They contain Vitamin D, which is critical for immune system and overall health at this time of year. Both a vitamin and a hormone, vitamin D is primarily made in our bodies as a result of getting adequate sunlight. Vitamin D plays an important role in our energy levels, moods, and helps to build healthy bones, heart, nerves, skin, and teeth, and it supports the thyroid gland.
- Sweet potatoes contain iron. Most people are aware that we need the mineral iron to have adequate energy, but iron plays other important roles in our body, including red and white blood cell production, resistance to stress, proper immune functioning, and the metabolising of protein, etc.
- Sweet potatoes are a good source of magnesium, which is the relaxation and anti-stress mineral. Magnesium is necessary for healthy artery, blood, bone, heart, muscle, and nerve function.
They are a source of potassium, one of the important electrolytes that help regulate heartbeat and nerve signals. Like the other electrolytes, potassium performs many essential functions, some of which include relaxing muscle contractions, reducing swelling, and protecting and controlling the activity of the kidneys.
- Sweet potatoes are naturally sweet-tasting but their natural sugars are slowly released into the bloodstream, helping to ensure a balanced and regular source of energy, without the blood sugar spikes linked to fatigue and weight gain.

LIFEISNOWHERE

You are what you see. Where you are now is based on the decisions you made. Saying No, or i'm not sure or i don't want to decide; no matter what you say, as far as it gives a result (good/bad) you've made a Decision.

What can you see? LIFEISNOWHERE

LIFE IS NO WHERE
LIFE IS NOW HERE

You call the shot, its up to you to decide what to want to see.

Well here's a retouched Note i wrote to myself a long time ago.
You are Unique, you are the only true you! no one can be you and note that you can't be someone else to.
First know yourself and develop yourself.
Step: note down things you do easily without any prompting, these things make up your strength. However the things you don't find easy to do, make up your weakness.
Don't force your way through it, take it a step at a time and you'd over come your weakness.
What is your vision?
What do you want to be and why? No matter what your plans are, you have to enjoy what you do and as well make impact in the lives of people.
You have a dream that one day you'd create a Non- government organization that wld benefit Youths in our Country.

As i grow i discover that the minds of most youths are as keen as a little child. We are not as mature as we look, we can't stand alone even though we say we don't need a hand.

What can change a Nation starts with what a youth changes and for this to be achieved we need motivation, we ask for an encouraging environment, we ask to be faithed in - we want to see people believe in us; thats what keeps us going.

You are the future You are the Dream You are the Nation.
You- the Youths.

They say we are LEADERS of tomorrow but lets bear in mind we are LEADERS of Today.
Being a success is not a day's Job, to become a leader won't happen overnight. If you want to lead in future, it starts from now.

#I have a problem with meeting people and talking on stage, but with the motivation i'm getting around me, i'm pushed to work on it i'm now doing things i would not have done on a norms.#.. Take it slow, and always keep it Real.

Healthy Weight

Being overweight can lead to a host of health problems, from high blood pressure and heart disease to arthritis, gallstones, and sleep apnea. It can also contribute to foot problems; heel pain and arthritis.

Excess pounds increase your chances of
developing atherosclerosis, poor circulation, and diabetes
– all of which can damage your feet.

If you are overweight, losing weight can help get more spring in your step. No single diet plan is guaranteed to produce a slimmer you.

But this three-pronged strategy for losing weight can help:
Be physically active. Aim for at least 30 minutes of strenuous physical activity (such as fast swimming) or an hour of moderate activity (such as walking briskly) on most days-more if you want to lose weight faster. But protect your feet with well-cushioned, supportive shoes. Exercise not only burns calories, it also builds muscle – or at least prevents muscle loss.

Find an eating plan that works for you. Nutrition experts at the Harvard School of Public Health emphasize limiting your intake of refined carbohydrates (such as white bread) and added sugars (soft drinks, candy, cookies). Instead, choose whole grains and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Eat relatively little meat, especially processed meats. Use olive oil and other vegetable oils instead of butter,
margarine, hydrogenated oils, and other sources of saturated and trans fats.

Be a defensive eater. Learn to stop eating before you feel stuffed.

EBOLA Facts... Reason behind Hand Washing

Knowledge is Power, spread the knowledge not the fear, always get more and new information about Ebola.
Scientifically proven fact about EBOLA virus. Pls endeavour to share.......If the ebola virus contacts a person's skin, this does not mean the person is then automatically infected by the virus. The virus is not active until it gains access into a person's mucous membrane. Mucous membranes are those pink fleshy places in the openings of the body like the eyes, nose, inner ears, mouth, anus, opening of the penis and vagina or any wound on any part of the body. So if the virus is on the skin of the hand, it is easy for the virus to enter the mucous membrane because people touch these parts of the body with their fingers. The hands are very important. This is why we encourage everybody to wash their hands often and rub sanitizers. This limits the possibility of being infected. Spread the knowledge, not the fear. Facts will save you, not fear. Together we can win the battle against ebola....
cause if you have Ebola i'm also affected.

UVA and ME (2)

UVA- Unveiling Africa Foundation
Well i don't know many non-profit organizations, my knowledge about UVA was by chance. I've heard of many NGO's, those concerning alleviating poverty,  Motherless baby homes, Empowering youths and so on. I really have no favorite cause they all do excellently well in their field.
From these past week have gained a lot from UVA, these platform opened me to lots of things. As a youth it made me see every thing going on in my environment. Most youths think of what to be in future, courses to study to be successful, how to later take care of their parents, things to do to make them stand out, things they must change to improve academically. All these are good thoughts, wonderful goals, but what we all never think of is how to affect our community positively, how to impact in someone's life positively, how to give hope to youngsters that our country Nigeria would get to the top someday.
Thanks to UVA, I have come to realize the more we think positively of our Country the better for our country, because from there we would begin to get ideas on how and what to do for Nigeria.  The way we all prepare hard for our exams to enable us pass, so is the way we ought to always put in our best in making our country a better one and not giving up on Her/cursing Her.
I know the country is still very faulty, i have condemned her as well but now i believe the less we condemn the greater the hope for a better Nigeria. Some would say Hope can't change HER; Yes, that's correct but YOU can, Hope would give you the platform to begin something and believe in yourself and Nigeria. For change to occur we need to take a step, lets stop condemning Nigeria cause it would neither change nor create a platform for change.
NIGERIA IS US, WE ARE NIGERIA
GOD BLESS. THINK POSITIVE.
.
.
The change we so crave for starts from us; I Understood  this from UVA.
Some of us know this but don't understand it. This is me promoting Unveiling Africa Foundation.
Everyone says they have talent for singing, dancing, drawing and so on but i don't; i don't sing well neither do i dance nor draw well and so on, i'm just skilled. Now i have come to realize that My Craving for Knowledge surpasses anything. When i came across UVA online i felt this looks interesting so i signed up, even i surprised myself that i came this far because i was a little discouraged by friends. Since i'm on break i felt participating would keep me busy, little did i know that i was set out to gain more knowledge. I thought it was just something that would take little of my time, well it took a lot of it and also helped my blog updates, gaining more is exciting.
I was opportune to see tremendous talents and write up in this 7days Days Of Change Challenges . Ayomide Abagun Art work is truly a Beauty. Wap Junior IT skills and Manual drafting is really Encouraging. Rosella Marian Durueke write up skills are Challenging and Awesome.
UVA rocks
Check them out at https://www.facebook.com/unveilingafricafoundation and https://twitter.com/UnveilingAfrica to view the tasks that went on for this 7Days today's task being the last.
There would be a Grand finale Tomorrow *Saturday 9th of August 2014* Days of Change caps up the incredible Days of Change campaign. UVA would be excited to have you there. So join us by 12:00 PM at Oxbridge Tutorial College, 49 Sobo Arobiodu St Gra, Ikeja Nigeria. Visit our Facebook and Twitter page for more details.
Lets Unveil the Africa together. :)

INTEL--LATEST APP Students gate way to easy Learning

INTEL is a computer technological company. They make micro-chips and micro-processors for computers, laptops and Tablets. It is mainly a Tech company. Intel just introduced an application called Intel Explore and Learn (IEL).
It is an educational application. It offers educational contents in one convenient location for all your learning needs. The application is opened to students in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa.
The application is basically an educational marketplace, like an online library where Nigerian students can assess several research materials, reading materials, textbooks, as well as learning videos that would help them with their education.
The website is www.intel.com/exploreandlearn
This application helps to create value and promote education. It encourages e- learning since we are in Computer Age.
It can only be assessed on the computer, laptop and tablets for now. it has not been optimized for mobile phones yet apart from Windows and Andriod phones because it takes time to load.
As a student or a Jambite, its very easy to register, what the telemarketers need to register you is your name, course and level if you are in a higher institution and if not state otherwise: jss, sss, jambite or PG.
For them give you entrance to this wonderful easy way to get your educational information *practice questions, textbooks, Facts you need to take note of in your field* that would be very beneficial to you; they need your mobile number to contact you.
So please try and send your phone numbers and that of your Colleagues.
I volunteered to work for them by bringing  this e-learning service to the knowledge students and get as many students Phone Numbers i can get, for the telemarketers, either through social media or physically.
Interested students should inbox me their numbers or post it here. We should all be interested i'ld be awaiting the numbers.
Thank you
:)

The Unveiling Africa Foundation (UVA) was founded in 2006 at the University of Alberta by students who felt compelled by the socio-economic reality in Africa.

UVA Entrepreneurship: My Skills

I know quite a bunch on how to operate a computer *Typesetting- Ms word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc*. I have a knack for creative design and photography; i'm pretty good at it.
My writing skills are still faulty but have done well so far, my friends ask of me to compose for them a poem especially for Birthdays to their friends, parents or other family members.
I recently wrote one #a speech# for my mother on her birthday July 19. Speaking of it, I think i should post it on my blog.
www.fabuloushb.blogspot.com
I just started blogging this year though have not being devoted to it at all cause i'm still on a verge to decide what goes there to draw the audience attention. But still check out my blog to see how far have gone.
For UVA Days of Change program Entrepreneurship, I decided to go back to my junior secondary school days when i was taught crocheting, so i got myself threads and knitting pin. I started making a Purse but unfortunately i won't be able to finish it today so i stopped it and browsed online for other stuff i could make with thread. I discovered i could make bracelet, it also took my time but it was better than making a purse.

Health is You

Drop the sugary things and go Natural- Water all the way.
Health/Fitness
Thanks to Unveiling Africa Foundation have made use of my summer period diligently.
I'm a kind of person that craves for something sweet but today was different. The lady i normally buy viju chocolate from saw me passing by yesterday and said she my Viju is available, but immediately i turned all i taught of was my health. I said to myself ''the sugar you take lately is getting out of hand and you feel weak almost all the time''. So i walked towards her and said instead give me bottled water.
So this afternoon i stopped by her shop to buy myself a bottled water and i smiled at Viju Chocolate :) oh my.
Viju contains greater than 2.5g fat, 10g carbohydrate and of all Viju Milk it has the lowest Nutritional value. But its delicious.
At that point i made a decision that the way i craved for viju all this years its time for nature WATER all the way.
And i had tea early this morning and prepared white rice with fried stew, plantain and boiled egg. Hmmm Yummy

Each One Teach One

UVA DAYS OF CHANGE.
Task 3: EDUCATION; EACH ONE, TEACH ONE..
Education is all about Learning and Teaching. When you teach, someone learns and you gain more. When you learn you have the ability to teach someone. Learn and Teach. Teach to Learn... *Studying is Key*
No Excuses! The Power of Self Discipline by Brian Tracy was a book my dad got for i and my siblings. it provides some good self help exercises and goal setting. The tone and style provide for easy reading. There are many personal stories for fun reading”
I advice everyone to read it, its the kind of book that keeps the brain working, it would make you set specific goals and make you feel comfortable with yourself.
That's what Self-discipline can do.
I have also read Rich Dad poor Dad a long time ago, its the kind of book that makes you think like an economist, teaches you how to spend your money and time ideally; it encourages you in investing on new ideas.
They are family books, so its passed round the whole family.
So i had no idea on what book to Donate to a friend, but now i do.
What I'm reading presently is Why You Act The Way You Do by Tim Lahaye, which i just got recently.
It talks about Our strengths and weakness making reference to our Temperament and teaching us to Maximize our potential.
It relates our Temperament to our Personal Life, Emotions, Spiritual Life and our day-day activity.
What have read so far:
understanding your temperament and peoples temperament, makes you understand yourself well and know our to relate with people better by understanding them as well.
A friend requested for it today when she saw me with it, so i took the opportunity to explain to her what i have read. I told her about the books have read so far, she really liked the No Excuses by Brain Tracy; and decided to get one. And i decided to pass my recent book to her when i'm done with it.
I advice every youth to read No Excuses by Brain Tracy, especially those who like to Procrastinate. It really helps, academically, spiritually and mentally.
And try to read Why you act the way you do by Lahaye; to know yourself better.

Thanks Mum, Thanks Dad. #UVA day2

Second Task is to show Appreciation to my parents or guardian
Appreciation letter to my Mum and Dad
Dear Mum n Dad,
Being 18 in Nigeria is technically the age of an adult, one who is responsible for his/her actions. So at this point in my life, I’m considered an adult. Yes, maybe sometimes I don’t completely act like it, but that’s part of life, right? As I’m growing up, I realize just how much you did for me. And, for that, I need to truly thank you – something I don’t think I’ve appropriately done to date.
Dad, thank you for getting mad at me when my report card didn’t have high enough grades. For making me realize that I can put more time into my work and improve my performance.
Dad, thank you for being so strict with your rules that I missed out on some moments that could have led me down the wrong path. For standing your ground when I begged to go somewhere or do something that, in hindsight, could have introduced me to things that would jeopardize my future forever.
Dad, thank you for caring a lot about me and not giving up of me. Thank you for spending hours to teach me *how to write well and read without being told* after a rough day at the office.
Mom, I know have being a stubborn girl always trying to pick a fight with my siblings but thank you for believing in me, snapping at me to come back to my senses. Thanks for all the clothes, shoes, bags and many other things you've got me. In-fact thank you for giving birth to me.
Mom, thank you for making me realize that I’m worth everything in this world. That I must be treated like a queen, and that I should never settle for less than what I deserve.
Mom, thank you for being you. For always being there for me, listening to all my blabbing. Thanks for being a Friend that i could always trust and be open to.
To both of you, Thank you for investing so much in raising me and for your teachings. I love you.
Mom and Dad, thank you for showing me true love in its rarest form, what it feels like, and how it can extend beyond life’s obstacles and challenges. Without each of you, I’d be nowhere near the person I am – and the person I’m still working on becoming. There aren’t enough words in the world to express my appreciation, but I think this is a good start. I owe you one.
Sincerely,
Your Daughter Hannah

Natural Hair Journey- The Latest Trend

Growing natural hair is the latest trend for African Ladies.
I was shocked when my sister decided to cut hair permed hair something she tagged as BIG CHOP. Well her big chop was very big, when you could easily see her scalp. That was when her natural hair journey started. Read all about it on www.leeznijis.blogspot.com

Now its my turn to get angry at my permed hair. Who would have taught i could cut my hair to grow a virgin one, well the relaxers would surely know.

Whenever i retouched, i end up having injuries on my SCALP all thanks to burning effects from the relaxers. When i asked others what to do, they all say the same thing *change your relaxer*, but i end up with the same effect. Its really bad to the point that when ordinary water touches my scalp it really aches.

So with all this problems stated, i decided to start my own Natural Hair Journey. Now I'm transitioning. :)

Ebola Virus- There is hope for a cure

Ebola must not take our world Bitter Kola has been internationally verified to inhibit d growth of the Ebola virus, hence an interim cure. Anyone who u suspect is in danger of getting d Virus is advised to consume it. Eat it like food and there is no overdose. Simply peel and chew!May God protect us all, Amen! pls do not forget to share cheers!!!!!!!. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garcinia_kola Preliminary study of the plant in the 1990s showed signs that it may benefit ebola victims by slowing down multiplication of the virus.[3] In animal studies, Garcinia kola increased the activities of the enzymes lactate dehydrogenase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.[4] Garcinia kola has been used for centuries to treat chest colds in traditional medicine, but research has taken a look and found out why it is effective. A study in the 2008 issue of The Internet Journal of Pulmonary Medicine, performed on mice, reports that garcinia kola improved respiratory function after 28 days of use of a garcinia extract.

EBOLA VIRUS....#Takecaution

All you need to know about Ebola Virus now:
1. It is a Central African disease that has traveled over countries in a living host to West Africa. It is easily spread by physical contact and eating contaminated bush meat.
Major hosts are in 5 species of Bats but monkeys and apes are easily infected and killed.
2. It kills in a week, leaving no time to treat an individual.
3. It has no known vaccine or cure.
4. Known cases have been experienced recently in Guinea, Liberia and Central Africa Rep, spreading eastwards and westwards towards Nigeria. Death toll so far in West Africa is over 100.
5. The Ebola outbreak of 2014 is the most challenging one witnessed in Africa.

What you can do?
1. Avoid eating any bush meat for now! Especially apes and bats.
2. Wash your hands as regularly as possible, especially after shaking a stranger. It is spread by contact. Wash your hands often with soap and water, sanitizer is a good alternative.
3.The most straightforward prevention method during Ebola outbreaks is not touching patients, their excretions, and
body fluids, or possibly contaminated materials and utensils. Patients should be isolated, and medical staff should be trained and apply strict barrier nursing
techniques. (disposable face mask, gloves, goggles, and a gown at all times). Traditional burial rituals, especially
those requiring embalming of bodies, should be discouraged or modified.
4. Always wash your fruits and vegetables before cooking.
5. Avoid contact with people with suspicious signs and places of outbreak.
6. Watch out for the warning signs which mimics malaria symptoms.
